Essential Questions:
How are challenges conquered in literature and informational text?
How do characters, real and fictional, respond to challenges (both positively and negatively)?
How can challenges affect yourself and the world around you?

Word Work-  Students will take a quiz on our third list of Word Work roots on Tuesday.  The words are:  astro, ject, spec/spect, see, auto, post, and tri.

Language Arts- Students will fill out their graphic organizer, and write the first draft of their narrative.  They will focus on keeping their writing concise, and using an interesting hook at the beginning of their stories.

Math-  Students will finish Lesson 2.1, "Adding and Subtracting Fractions."  Then they will move on to Lesson 2.2, "Introducing Common Denominators."  In this lesson they will discover strategies to find common denominators through a series of problem strings, and investigations.

Have a great weekend!
