A Look at Next Week:

Spelling- We are done with Spelling for the school year!

Social Studies- Students will take their Chapter 10 test on Wednesday.

Reading- Students will be meeting in literature circles to discuss their novels.  Students are reading Holes or Touching Spirit Bear.  They will also finish presenting their photo story projects.

Language Arts- Students will continue to study verbs.

Science- Students will continue to read about shorelines and may take an open note assessment on Lesson 11.3 on Wednesday.

Math-  Students will be dividing fractions and will take a division quiz on Thursday.

Important Days:

Tuesday- Phil Schwarz visits the 5th Grade
Thursday- 1:00 Talent Show
Friday- Visit the LV Library

Spelling- We will be studying Lesson 31 in Spelling this week, and will take a test on Friday.

Social Studies- We will read Lesson 10.3 and discuss the Bill of Rights.   

Reading- Students will be meeting in literature circles to discuss their new novels.  Students are reading Holes or Touching Spirit Bear.  They will also finish their photo story projects and present them to the class.

Language Arts- Students will continue to study verbs.

Science- Students will continue to read about the ocean and may take an open note assessment on Lesson 11.2 on Wednesday.

Math-  Students will continue to multiply fractions.

Monday- No School
Tuesday- 7:00 PM Tech Night at LV for Families of 1st-8th Grade

Science- Students will continue to read about the ocean and may take an open note assessment on Lesson 11.1 on Tuesday.

Math-  Students will begin multiplying fractions.

Monday- 5th Grade Visits Lakeview, 6:30 Parent Meeting at Lakeview  
Tuesday- 8:00 AM Choir and Band Concert
Friday- 1:00 PM Wheel of Wisdom Assembly, Spirit Day- Wear Red, White, and Blue

Social Studies- Students will begin to learn about the constitution and will be studying the Preamble.

Reading- Students will continue to study figurative language and we will begin our last novel study.

Language Arts- Students will begin our last grammar unit on verbs.    

Science- Students will begin to read Ch.12 on Oceans.

Math-  Students will be subtracting mixed numbers and may be taking their Chapter test on Friday.

Social Studies- Students will take their Chapter 9 test on the Revolutionary War on Tuesday.

Reading- Students will begin a poetry unit where we will be able to pick out figurative language in poetry, and then be able to use it in our own poems.

Language Arts- Students will take an open-note assessment on Pronouns on Wednesday.    

Science- Students will review Chapter 11 on weather, and take their test on Friday.

Math-  Students will continue to work with mixed numbers and improper fractions.
