A Peek at Next Week
Next week we will finish up our unit on athletes. Students will be working on expository writing and will begin a short story unit.

Athletes
In Reading this week we started our unit on athletes and extreme sports. All of our reading will include stories and articles with this topic. While reading these stories we have been working on building our vocabulary, and reading with intonation.
In Language Arts we are reviewing prepositional phrases, and we will be working on letter writing. Next week students will be learning to distinguish between formal and in-formal writing. They will write an in-formal letter to a friend, and then a formal letter to a teacher, both letters explaining the same topic.
