Before each game there will be a pre-game show with games, contests, and the choir and pep band performances. At the pre-game shows certain teachers will be pied in the face by students. While Steven is trying to survive junior high school, his younger brother is diagnosed with leukemia. Between drums, girls and dangerous pie, Steven finds ways to cope with his problems. We will begin the novel by discussing stresses that teenagers face on a daily basis, going over vocabulary, and making predictions.
