The Museum of Science and Industry Field Trip

The Chemistry Lab












A Look at Next Week:
Social Studies- We will review Chapter 9 and will take the chapter test on Thursday.  

ELA
Reading- We will continue to use multiple sources to look at a single event in history.  Students will continue to read, and listen to Longfellow's poem, "Paul Revere's Ride."  They will then practice reciting certain stanzas of the poem.
Essential Questions:  How does the time period of the hardship impact future decisions and events?
How are hardships in history similar and different?
Word WorkSpelling:  Students will be working with our ELA Unit 3 vocabulary, and will take a test on Friday.  The words will be:  scattered, targets, broadside, Minutemen, taunt, and compliment.
Vocabulary-  Students will play word games on the iPad and Scrabble.

Language Arts- We will continue our unit on verbs.  Students will also continue to write articles for their newspapers about themselves.  This week we will write a rough draft about our personal goals.

Science- Students will finish discussing Lesson 14.3, "What are Chemical Properties and Changes?"  

Math-  We will continue to go over how to subtract mixed numbers with re-naming or re-grouping (Lesson 9.13).
