Open House

Just a reminder that on Thursday, April 30th Prairieview will be having an Open House.  Not only can you come see your child's projects, but there will also be a book fair and an ice cream social.  It will be from 6:30-8:00 PM.  I look forward to seeing everyone!

Online Book Fair- Opens 4/25

A Look at Next Week:
Social Studies- We will take cause/effect notes on Lesson 9.3 "The World Turned Upside Down."  We will be discussing the end of the Revolutionary War.

ELA
Reading- We will continue to use multiple sources to look at a single event in history.  Students will read, and listen to Longfellow's poem, "Paul Revere's Ride."  They will then practice reciting certain stanzas of the poem.
Essential Questions:  How does the time period of the hardship impact future decisions and events?
How are hardships in history similar and different?
Word WorkSpelling:  Students will be studying Lesson 33, and will take a test on Friday.
Vocabulary-  Students will play word games on the iPad and Scrabble.

Language Arts- We will continue our unit on verbs.  Students will also continue to practice narrative writing by creating a newspaper about themselves.  


Science- Students will finish Lesson 14.2, and will take an open-note quiz on Tuesday.  Then they will begin to read Lesson 14.3, "What are Chemical Properties and Changes?"  

Math-  Students will learn how to subtract mixed numbers with re-naming or re-grouping (Lesson 9.13).

Friday- Science and Industry Field Trip
