Winter Haiku

This week students wrote a winter haiku.  After reading many haiku poems and discussing them, we brainstormed on the board all the things that came to mind when we thought of the word "winter."  Then students went to work creating their poems, and typing them up.  Here are a few samples of their work:

Cozy
When you get cozy
You lock away the coldness
You keep off the dark

Snuggle on the couch
Tuck in the heat and warmness
And let the warmth in.

Icicles
Small icicles hang
Glittering in the sunlight
Dripping with the water
