A Peek at this Week:
ELA:
Writing: We will continue to build our writing stamina in our Writing notebooks. We have also started our Narrative writing unit. :) We are going over the parts of a short story, and this week we will look at our writing rubric.
Reading Skills: Students will work on breaking down words into their roots and prefixes. They will also review different forms of figurative language. Then later in the week they will practice writing written response to their reading using text evidence to support their answers.
Essential Question: How do your experiences help shape your identity?
Word Work: Students will be working with our new vocabulary words, by defining the word, drawing a picture of the word, finding synonyms and antonyms, and writing them in sentences.
Essential Vocab: identity, experience, pursuit, wisdom
Math: Students will continue to go over factors, multiples, prime numbers, and composite numbers. They will continue to work on multiple types of multiplication strategies.
Science: We will begin our first unit on understanding force and energy.
Social Studies: Students will continue to build our classroom community, and we will continue reading about the Midwest.
