A Peek at Next Week

A Look at this Week:
Social Studies- Students will be discussing Lesson 8.3, and will be taking cause and effect notes.  They will discuss the battles of Concord, Lexington, and Bunker Hill.  They will also continue to look at each event through a loyalist and patriot's point of view.

Science- Students will hopefully take their open-note quiz on Lesson 14.1 on Wednesday.  Then they will read Lesson 14.2 "What are Physical Properties and Changes?"

ELA
Reading and Language Arts- On Monday students will get to experience the Paul Revere Mystery Theater at Prarieview.  Students will watch a play on Paul Revere's famous ride, and will be given a mystery to solve in small groups.  I am looking forward to it!

Then we will also be having mini-lessons on idioms, adages, proverbs, and reading with inflection.  We hope to also do a first and second read of Longfellow's poem about Paul Revere's famous ride.

Hardship in History- Essential Questions:
How does the time period of the hardship impact future decisions and events?
How are hardships in history similar and different?

Word Work-  Students will continue to study List 10: cap, di, semi, sect, vac, and vis, and take their quiz on Friday.  They will also continue to go over vocabulary for our Paul Revere story:  cargo, colonies, revolution, express, oppose, liberty, Patriots, sentries, and taxes.

Math-  We will be going over various multiplication strategies.
