STEM Planning
ELA:
Writer's Workshop: We will continue to revise our narratives. Students will also be focusing on adding sensory details to their writing.
Reading Skills: Students are wrapping up Module 1, and will begin Module 2: "Come to Your Sense."
Essential Question: How do people and animals use their senses to navigate the world?
Essential Vocab: luminous, transparent, reflect, illuminates, judge
Word Work: Students will continue to work with our new vocabulary words, by defining the word, drawing a picture of the word, finding synonyms and antonyms, and writing them in sentences. They will also continue to work on the spelling of words with short and long -i vowel sounds.
Science: Students are creating a soccer ball for our October STEM challenge. They have read about soccer balls, created science teams, and have planned their construction. This week they will be building and testing their soccer balls.
Social Studies: Students will continue to study the Midwest. We will continue to look at South and North Dakota.
Math: Students continue to work on multiplication of double digits using arrays, base ten blocks, and arrays. They will also continue to review multiplying by powers of ten.
