Paul Revere's Ride: A History Mystery

                                                              Solving the Mystery:

A Look at this Week:
Social Studies- Students will be typing their final drafts and looking up pictures for their Patriot/Loyalist books.

Science-  We will be learning the difference between physical and chemical changes in experiments we will be conducting at the Museum of Science and Industry on Tuesday.  We will also continue to discuss and take notes on Lesson 14.2 "What are Physical Properties and Changes?"  Hopefully we will take our open note quiz on Lesson 14.2 on Thursday.

ELA
Reading and Language Arts- Students will be working on inflection.  We will do a close read of Longfellow's poem about Paul Revere's famous ride.  Then students will practice reading 2-3 stanzas of the poem with inflection.  They will eventually recite the stanzas to me and I will be listening to them for expression, inflection and overall fluency.

Hardship in History- Essential Questions:
How does the time period of the hardship impact future decisions and events?
How are hardships in history similar and different?

Word Work-  Students will continue to go over vocabulary for our Paul Revere story:  cargo, colonies, revolution, express, oppose, liberty, Patriots, sentries, and taxes.

Math-  We will continue to go over various multiplication strategies.

Important Days:
Monday- ELA PARCC Testing Session 3
Tuesday- Museum of Science and Industry Field Trip
Thursday- 6:30-8:00 Open House

Have a wonderful week!!
