A Peek at this Week:
ELA:
Writing: We will continue to build our writing stamina in our Writing notebooks. We have also started our Narrative writing unit. We have written the beginnings of our stories, and now we will write the middle and end.
Reading Skills: Students will review different forms of figurative language. Then later in the week they will practice writing written response to their reading using text evidence to support their answers. (R.A.C.E.S. Response)
Essential Question: How do your experiences help shape your identity?
Word Work: Students will be working with our new vocabulary words, by defining the word, drawing a picture of the word, finding synonyms and antonyms, and writing them in sentences.
Essential Vocab: heritage, ancient, resolutions, doubts, relying, clumsy, and awkward
Math: Students will finish reviewing Unit 1 and take their Unit 1 post-assessment on Friday.
Science: We will begin our first unit on understanding force and energy. We have also started our October STEM challenge, which will be building a soccer ball.
Social Studies: Students will be working on their research of Latino countries for Hispanic Heritage month. We will also continue reading about the Midwest.
