Social Studies- Students are finishing Lesson 6.1 "Working and Trading" in the English colonies.
Science- Students are beginning our unit on weather. I made a mistake on our last blog, and said we would be covering energy. However weather fits hand-in-hand with our new ELA unit, "Nature's Fury," therefore we will be doing this unit first. We will be focusing on energy after we are done with weather and oceans. This week students will finish Lesson 11.1 "What Causes Weather?" and will take an open-note assessment on it on Thursday.

Reading and Language Arts- Students will finish presenting their Glogs. We will continue Unit 2, "Nature's Fury." Students will be reading an article on earthquakes. They will also be focusing on drawing inferences, and using text evidence when answering questions.
Word Work- Students will continue to work on List 6: arch, cent, graph, loc, ped/pod, and re. They will take a quiz on this on Friday.
Math- Students will be relating fractions to decimals and place value.
